Pulse Oximeter
Pulse oximeter is the name of a device that is used to measure the amount of oxygen saturation in the blood and is often used to control the health status of patients and is usually used in hospitals. In addition to showing SPO2, it also displays heart beat rate and SPO2 curves.
روش کار
This method is a non-invasive method that measures the amount of hemoglobin molecules mixed with oxygen and expresses it as a percentage. Its normal rate is 95-97%.
This device consists of a light sensor that is placed on the pulsating arterioles (usually on the forefinger of a person), on one side, two LEDs are placed as transmitters, which emit 2 red light waves with a wavelength of 660 nm and an infrared wave with a wavelength of 930 nm.
Approximately 97% of the amount of oxygen that reaches the tissues is through its chemical combination with hemoglobin. The remaining 3% of it is transferred through its dissolution in plasma.
Oxygen is loosely attached to hemoglobin and has the ability to take apart; It means that its reaction is balanced and reversible. When PO2 is high, oxygen is attached to hemoglobin and when pressure is low, oxygen is aparted of hemoglobin.
In this device, the blood oxygen percentage (+) is determined in such a way that it is faster and easier than other methods such as blood sampling, etc., it is possible to determine the lack or excess of oxygen (hypoxia or hyperoxia) in the blood and observe the result of oxygen therapy.
Pulse oximeter working procedure
MAPVA’s pulse oximeter has the highest accuracy in addition to the lower price compared to foreign competitors; which is the result of months of researches and developments by our team in order to optimize the function, Price drop and Increasing accuracy of the parts used in it.
The video above shows the comparison of the accuracy of the pulse oximeter device (pulse oximeter on the left) of MAPVA Company and its foreign model (pulse oximeter on the right). (watch the video on Aparat.com)
Technical Features:
- Display of dissolved oxygen in blood and heart rate.
- Automatic shutdown after 8 seconds.
- High resolution OLED display.
- Chargeable with Android charger.
- Display heart rate graph
The advantage of pulse oximeter
In this device, the blood oxygen percentage (+) is determined in such a way that it is faster and easier than other methods such as blood sampling, etc., it is possible to determine the lack or excess of oxygen (hypoxia or hyperoxia) in the blood and observe the result of oxygen therapy.
Like all medical products, the most important feature of the pulse oximeter is its accuracy, and due to the price difference in the sensors and parts used in it, similar products do not have enough quality and accuracy to reduce the cost.

Disturbing factors in recording correct results
- Exposure to strong light.
- Client’s Very high or low blood pressure
- Abnormal tissue temperature.
- The presence of absorbers such as varnish or colors.
- Putting the index finger in the wrong position when using the device.
